An alchemist is someone who believes that everyday, normal things can be supernaturally turned into precious materials. I believe that in urban communities all over Britain (and the world) people are engaged in transforming waste places, derelict buildings and marginalised communities into glimmers of gold. This blog is dedicated to telling some of the stories and reflecting on some of the challenges of the art and science of being an urban alchemist today.
